Annessa’s Just One Thing: Sleep Your Way to Losing Weight

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is to go to bed. The number of sleep hours you get affects your health in more ways than we can count! You owe it to yourself and the people you care for to be well rested. And guess what else? Getting at least 8 hours of sleep is imperative to weight loss. Without that sleep, your body’s hormones may be off, which contributes to fat storage, and cascades into other possible health problems.

Registered Dietitian Annessa Chumbley says:

Use that phone to your advantage and set an alarm to remind you when it’s time to start winding down. Without that, those precious minutes get away from us and before we know it, it’s long past when we should have gone to bed. That then affects the next day, and even days after. Build in your own healthy reminder by setting an alarm for “wind down time”, and then, don’t look at any more technology, that way your spirit has a chance to process that day, and get ready for the next.

So this week’s just One Thing to do to impact your health: set an alarm on that phone to remind you to go to bed! Start tonight. Stay committed to it all week, and you will feel mentally & physically lighter. I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you.
