Body found on northeast side ID’d as missing woman Angela Barlow

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the body found Tuesday on the northeast side as 23-year-old Angela Barlow.

Barlow has been missing since October.

“The cause and manner of death are pending at this time,” said a statement Wednesday from chief deputy coroner Alfarena T. Ballew. “I will not have the cause and manner of death until after further analysis in about 6 to 8 weeks.”

Aaron Hamer, an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, said Tuesday the body was found in some brush in a residential area in the 5300 block of East 43rd Street. IMPD sources said a tip was called in that Barlow’s body may be in the brush at this location.

“We’re not sure who called it in,” Hamer said.

Barlow vanished during the early morning hours of Oct. 27, 2016, after working at a private party at an apartment complex on the northwest side.

24-Hour News 8 talked to Christina Kramer, Barlow’s mother, on Wednesday. She’s wants justice for her daughter.

“Somebody took her like she was nothing and threw her away like a piece of trash. That is not fair. That is not right, and that deserved justice; my daughter deserved better than that,” Kramer said Wednesday.

The Kramer family said Wednesday they want to start a foundation in honor of Barlow to help troubled girls.

In March, Kramer said police were looking into human trafficking in this case. They told her they believed someone caused her daughter to go missing, but who is responsible and what happened remained a mystery.

Kramer said in March that she later learned her daughter may have been with a man she met at Club Rio, where she worked as a dancer.

Twelve days after she went missing, police found her car, a blue Pontiac G6, more than eight miles from the northwest side apartment complex Barlow was known to be at the night she went missing.

Kramer said in March that it would be out of character for her daughter to run away from her life in Indianapolis and her family in Muncie. Barlow was known for often checking in with either Kramer or close friends. Even her last-known communication, a text message late on Oct. 26, 2016, was letting her best friend know where she would be that night.

“Doing a private party at this address just in case I go missing lol.”
