Woman shot on city’s near-northeast side following argument

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities are responding after a woman was shot Monday morning.

It happened in the 3400 block of East 26th Street just after 11:30 a.m.

Police said a woman was shot inside a home by 31-year-old Marquetta Johnson.

Johnson was later tackled on the front yard of the home by another person before being taken into custody

They victim was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Johnson faces a preliminary charge of battery.

The woman who is accused of battery was initially identified by police as 32-year-old Camille Wilson. Detectives announced July that they were able to confirm her identity as Marquetta Johnson 31-years old.
