INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities found a man dead with an apparent gunshot wound along Keystone Avenue on the city’s north side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers were sent just after 4:10 p.m. to the 3100 block of North Keystone Avenue on reports of a person shot. A news release from IMPD gave conflicting information on whether the man was found in a home or in a vehicle, but department spokesman later said he believed the man was found inside a car.
Police at the scene said the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.
The Marion County coroner will identify the man and provide his name once his family has been notified, police said.
Homicide detectives were checking the area for potential witnesses. Police also asked for the public’s help in this investigation.
