Lafayette police investigating double stabbing

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police were called to a reported double stabbing in the 1100 block of South Fourth Street around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said witnesses at the scene told them there was a fight in an alley just before the stabbing.

Two men were each stabbed at least once in the torso. One man had nonlife-threatening injures.

According to police, the other victim was airlifted to another hospital for further treatment. Right now, he is stable.

The men involved were last seen going south in the alley to the west of South Fourth Street.

Police have not released any suspect information yet, but they said they believe at least four people were involved in the altercation.

Also Monday morning, LPD investigated a shots fired report and a crash where a car hit a tree.

Officers found no evidence of shots fired, and they said the crash resulted in minor injuries.
