Groundbreaking held for new library

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The northwest side of Indianapolis will soon have easier access to the books and educational resources.

City officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday morning for the library’s new branch on Michigan Road near West 62nd Street.

Officials say the new branch comes as a response to a services gape in the area. It will be a single story building featuring seven study rooms, a teen room, a computer lab and a community meeting room.

The $7.3 million projects is funded through bonds approved by the Indianapolis City-County Council. The branch is set to be completed by the end of next year.
