INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It may be November, but it was prom night for hundreds of people in central Indiana.
For the fourth year, Traders Point Christian Church hosted the Special Needs Prom.
Guests were treated to a paparazzi entrance, makeovers at the salon, dancing, games and karaoke.
The church says a lot of the guests have never gotten a chance to attend a prom or be pampered, and this is their way to show them the love of Jesus.
And it’s not just the guests of honor who get some special treatment.
“We have an entire area for our caregivers, that we serve them dinner, we even have a date room for some parents that may not get to go on dates, it’s intimate. We have two chairs at a table. There’s dimmer lights and candles at the table, so just a way to love on them and give them a night as well,” said Wendy Wilken with Traders Point Christian Church.
The event has gotten so big that, this year, they hosted the prom at two of their church locations tonight – in Zionsville and in Carmel.
