Officials rescue pregnant woman from high waters in Rush Co.

RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Two Indiana State Police officers rescued a pregnant woman from high waters Monday afternoon.

It happened around 1 p.m. when a pregnant woman called and told dispatch that car was stalling in high waters in the area of CR 100 South and CR 715 West.

Dispatch advised the woman to climb out of her window and await help.

Two officers would arrive later and managed to get 22-year-old Addison Pugh from the top of her vehicle and into the bed of their truck.

High water signs were up in the area, since the location is known to flood easily.

Officials have advised to heed the signs and avoid these areas after severe weather.
