MUNCIE, Ind (WISH) — Close to $1 million. That’s how much Ball State University is paying for a new marketing campaign.  Apart of that marketing campaign is their new two-word slogan ‘We Fly.” The university’s president, Geoff Mearns says it’s money well spent.

Mearns says the slogan embodies and embraces aspirations of both the university and the students. ‘We Fly’ was unveiled on Monday and cost the university $930 thousand. Since then, the old slogan, ‘Education Redefined’ has been coming down.

“We think it’s an appropriate investment that will give us the opportunity to tell the stories of our great students and our outstanding graduates, to tell those stories with a passion and pride those stories deserve,” said Mearns.

‘We Fly’ marks the beginning of new things happening at Ball State. Mearns just joined the university in May. Additionally, Ball State currently has the largest enrollment in its history. The $930 thousand went toward brand development and rolling out the brand. Ball State began working on the concept back in 2016.
