Indy International Festival gets underway

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indy International Festival starts Thursday morning at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The event, in its 41st year, will take place in the Blue Ribbon Pavillion.

More than 50 ethnic organizations have booths and displays set up.

There will also be entertainment based on art and culture from around the world. Artists will also be sharing and selling their work.

The Indy international Festival says one of their main goals is to offer students and teachers a cultural and educational experience so they are expecting thousands of students and teachers over the next few days.

On Thursday, they will also host a naturalization ceremony for 195 people to become US citizens.

The festival runs through Saturday.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids 7-12. Kids 6 and under are free.

General admission hours are 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
