2 dead after east side shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people are dead following a shooting on the city’s east side.
The deadly shooting happened in the area of East 34th Street and Keystone Avenue just before 12:30 a.m.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, an officer in the area heard what appeared to be multiple gunshots, which a subsequent call to 911 later confirmed.
After the nearby officer arrived on scene, two victims were discovered. Emergency medical personnel responding to the scene applied first aid to 26-year-old Trevon Harris, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toshika Boler, 32, was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital but later died at the hospital.
Police say they believe the shooting is an isolated incident.
No suspect information is available at this time.
The deadly shooting remains under investigation.
