Noblesville set to open outdoor ‘Ice Plaza’

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) ― The Federal Hill Commons “Ice Plaza” in Noblesville is set to open Nov. 24.

Parks and recreation officials say the outdoor ice skating rink will hold 200 skaters at a time inside the 50-by-80-foot rink. It’s located at The Federal Hill Commons at Westfield Road and Cicero Road, a city park that opened just last spring.

You can lace up your skates seven days a week starting the day after Thanksgiving and until Jan. 8.

Admission includes skate rental and costs $12 per person, according to park officials. The price drops to $10 for a group of 10 or more, or for skaters participating in theme nights Fridays, including ugly sweater night, Elf Party, and toy giveaway night.

Federal Hill Commons Park will also have an open concession stand for skaters daily and food trucks available Fridays and Saturdays.

Park officials say the rink builder is Magic Ice USA, and it will be staffed by city employees. The city pays $100,000 yearly to rent the ice for the public, according to the Noblesville Parks and Recreation Department.
