Downtown artists, art dealers group disbands

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association held its last hurrah Thursday night.

The association known by the acronym IDADA is disbanding after 15 years. The group says it’s time for new artists and new energy.

The nonprofit was an organization of art galleries, art-related businesses and artists that created and marketed unique and original art in and around downtown Indianapolis.

The group says it fulfilled its mission and did what it set out to do. They say the decision to dissolve was not an easy one but they believe it’s the right one.

You can see the final exhibition featuring 18 artists through Sunday at the Schwitzer Gallery in the Circle City Industrial Complex, 1125 Brookside Ave.
