‘Quality-of-life sweep’ takes police, city employees into neighborhood

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers hit the streets of a north side neighborhood Friday to try and make it a better place to live.

The officers teamed up with other city employees for what they called a “quality-of-life sweep.”

They met in the morning by Washington Park in the Oxford neighborhood. The officers worked to address code and zoning concerns expressed by residents. Officers also made residents aware of different social services available.

Mayor Joe Hogsett and IMPD Chief Bryan Roach walked the area in September.
