Wild weather expected over the next 24 hours

It will be a whirlwind weather pattern for the next 24 hours.

THIS EVENING: A storm system that is strengthening will move into Indiana this evening. You may see some scattered rain showers, and increasing temperatures. The biggest thing you will notice is increasing wind. Wind speed will reach 15-25 mph this evening. Most high school football games should be done before rain arrives.

STRONG WIND DEVELOPS OVERNIGHT: We will not see much thunderstorm activity overnight, but wind will quickly pick up overnight, with gusts over 40 mph at times. There could be some brief power outages as a result. Temps will continue to climb into the mid to upper 50s overnight.

STORMS SATURDAY, FALLING TEMPS, FLURRIES? The storm system has slowed down a bit, so the strongest line of thunderstorms will arrive around Noon in central Indiana, then eastern Indiana by mid-afternoon. There could be damaging wind, and also some localized flooding. In the afternoon, temps will fall into the 40s, then 30s by evening. Some flurries or even a quick burst of a snow shower could mix in late afternoon and evening, but the ground should be too warm for anything to accumulate.

COLD SUNDAY: Sunday will be quiet, but cold. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 30s, and the wind will make it feel like lower 30s.

8-DAY FORECAST: Most of next week looks quiet, with mild temps bouncing back in Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will pass through (dry), and drop temps for Wednesday. Thanksgiving and Friday will see highs in the mid to upper 40s. Next chance of precipitation arrives next Saturday with a chance of scattered rain and or snow showers.
