Keeping your neighbors warm and fed

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Saturday afternoon, people in need of help walked inside Resurrection Community Church on East 38th Street and Tacoma Avenue.

Those in attendance were treated to dinner, along with free coats, hats and gloves. After picking out coats, each person received a bag of groceries for the week.

24-Hour News 8 talked with Sarah Montgomery, who took off work on Saturday to serve those at the dinner.

“I’ve been there, I’ve been homeless, so I know how it feels,” said Montgomery.

Resurrection Community Church partnered with Northeast Corridor Quality of Life Team to help with the afternoon dinner.
