Edgerrin James among Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalists

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)  — Former Indianapolis Colts running back Edgerrin James has been named a semifinalist for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The 27 modern-era semifinalists for the 2018 class were announced Tuesday evening.

After being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, James spent his first seven seasons in Indianapolis, leading the NFL in rushing each of his first two seasons. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection during his time with the Colts.

James’ 12,246 career rushing yards rank 12th all-time. Roger Craig was the only other running back to make the list of semifinalists.

This is the fourth time James has been named a Hall of Fame semifinalist.

The list of semifinalists was selected from an initial group of 108 nominees. The list will be trimmed to 15 modern-era finalists in January, before the 2018 class is announced the night before the Super Bowl.

The complete list of semifinalists can be seen here.
