INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police were called at noon Tuesday to the 2100 block of Shoreland Lane at the Marina Apartments.

When detectives arrived, they found a 21-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound.

According to investigators, the victim dropped up off a couple of friends at the apartment complex. The details are unclear after the drop-off; however, someone shot the victim. He tried to drive away, but he didn’t make it out of the complex.

A spokesman for Warren Township Schools said only students who live in Marina Apartments were held over until authorities gave the all-clear. Also, a lockdown occurred at Lakeside Elementary for a time.

24-Hour News 8 watched as parents, school staff members and officers helped escort the children away from the scene.

It is unclear if police have any suspects in the investigation.
