Funeral arrangements made for sisters found dead on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Funeral services have been set for the two sisters found dead in their home on Friday night.

According to IMPD, the two women, Meredith Opel and Mallory Jackson, were found with apparent trauma to their bodies in their home on Stone Mill Drive on the south side of Indianapolis.

The suspect in the investigation, Darrel Jackson, was later found dead in Arkansas. Police say he died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Meredith Opel was 20 years old, a junior at the University of Southern Indiana studying sociology and political science. Mallory Jackson, 27 years old, was a nurse and leaves behind a young daughter.

Meredith and Mallory’s visitations will be held together on Friday, Dec. 1 from 3-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. Both services will be held in the gym of Roncalli High School, where the sisters went to high school.
