Firefighter injured battling vacant residence fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One firefighter was transported to the hospital after being injured while battling a vacant house fire Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the vacant residence in the 2900 block of Andrew J. Brown Avenue at approximately 7:45 a.m.

At the time of transportation, the firefighter was said to be in stable condition, awake and breathing.

It is unclear at this point how the firefighter was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
