Fraternity activity temporarily suspended at IU Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – Fraternity activity on IU Bloomington’s campus has been temporarily suspended.

The Vice Provost of Student Affairs at IU Bloomington, Lori Ressor, said on social media the move was the result of an unanimous vote by the Indiana University Interfraternity Council.

She went on to say that she applauds the vote and looks forward to making a safer environment for all IU Students.

The move comes after at least three fraternities have had chapters closed or suspended on the Bloomington campus this year.

IU announced the decision overnight, becoming the fifth college around the country to shut down fraternity activities this fall.

Currently, it is unclear how long the suspension of all fraternity activity will last on the campus.
