Man sentenced to 80 years for double shooting of siblings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man who shot his ex-girlfriend and her brother while dressed as a woman was sentenced Friday to 80 years in prison.

Michael Love was convicted of two counts of attempted murder in November 2017. The shooting took place in July 2015 in the 300 block of North Eastern Avenue.

Love approached his ex-girlfriend, Sultanna Reed and her brother, Zachariah Guyton, as they were getting ready to take five children to daycare. He approached the vehicle, pulled a gun out of a plastic bag and fired multiple shots. His ex-girlfriend was shot three times, and her brother was shot once in the face. The children were not injured but witnessed the shooting.

Neighbors in 2015 told 24-Hour News 8 they believed the incident involved a domestic dispute between Love and Reed.

At the time, there was a protective order against Love to stay away from his ex-girlfriend.
