Police arrest 33-year-old for alleged involvement in October murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced Friday night its homicide investigators have arrested a man wanted in connection with an October murder on the east side.

Brione Jackson, 33, was arrested Friday for his alleged involvement in the murder of Anthony Bailey Jr., police said in a news release. Bailey was also age 33, said Officer Aaron Hamer, a spokesman for the department.

IMPD was dispatched shortly before 9:30 p.m. Oct. 20 to the intersection of East Washington Street and North Webster Avenue on a report of shots fired. Police said officers heard shots fired around East Washington Street and Catherwood Avenue. The officers then saw a car fleeing from that area and pursued it north on Arlington Avenue. Eventually, the car crashed into a pole in the 5900 block of Bolton Court in the Pangea Vistas Apartments complex. The suspect then ran from the scene but eventually was caught, police said in October.

A decision on the charge against Jackson will come from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, police said.

On Friday night, Jackson was listed in online records as being in the Marion County Jail.

Police earlier Friday announced the arrests of two suspects in connection with two separate homicides that occurred in October and November.
