Police chase ends in White River, 1 woman in custody
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One woman is in custody following a police chase that ended in the White River.
The incident began when officers spotted an erratic driver on IUPUI’s campus. When campus police attempted to pull over the driver, he fled.
Police lost sight of the vehicle for some time, but eventually tracked it to the railroad tracks near White River Parkway.
Police soon found a man and woman, believed to be the driver and passenger, hiding in nearby bushes.
The woman was taken into custody while the man managed to escaped and was last seen jumping into the White River.
There has not yet been any recovery from the water and it’s unclear whether the man made it to the other side of the river.
