Boone Co. bridge collapses following transportation of farm equipment

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Boone County officials are investigating following the collapse of a bridge.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon on Holiday Road.

Upon arrival, the driver of the tractor told officials he didn’t realize the attachment was wider than the bridge.

The driver was not injured and managed to escape.

Alcohol or drugs were not determined to be a factor.

It is not yet known how long the bridge will be closed for.

This is the second major bridge in Boone County to be damaged from farm equipment, as Sugar Creek Bridge was damaged last year and faced multi-million dollar destruction.
