Local filmmakers taking submissions for statewide student screenwriting competition
They’re both Indiana natives an IU alumni! Meet John Armstrong, Co-Founder & COO, and Zachary Spicer, Co-Founder & CEO, both of Pigasus Pictures. John and Zach are on a mission: Inspire young Hoosier filmmakers and foster in-state talent. And they’re doing this through a statewide student screenwriting competition that YOU could be a part of!

– Submission process now open for Project Pigasus, year 2 of a statewide student screenwriting competition open to students in grades 9-12. The winning screenplay will be fully produced by a professional film crew in the contestant’s town and will be submitted for consideration to major film festivals nationwide, screened in select theaters and distributed online. Deadline January 25, 2018

– Pigasus Pictures is based in Bloomington. Just completed production of second feature film, “Ms. White Light,” filmed in Bloomington (featuring Tony winner Judith Light of “Who’s The Boss” and “Transparent” among others)
– Their mission: Remain community-focused, create Indiana jobs, foster regional business opportunities.
– This follows widespread success of their first feature film “The Good Catholic” — now available on DVD/Blu-Ray and iTunes, Amazon, etc. “The Good Catholic” was filmed in Bloomington and featured Danny Glover among others.
– Indiana-centric production infrastructure, regional business mindset: Pigasus hires a majority of its crew locally, creates internship opportunities with universities and works with Indiana high school students on short films.
