Preparing for winter weather
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says the first snowfall usually brings more crashes than typically later in the season.
Preparations are now underway and that means you’ll see INDOT trucks on the roads.
Officials say brining roads before snowfall helps to prevent snow and ice from bonding to paved surfaces, enabling easy plowing and removal.
In addition to readying the roadways for the coming winter season, you’ll also want to prepare as well.
AAA recommends all drivers prepare for winter by checking tires, battery, oil, coolant, lights and wipers.
