Wintry through the first half of the week before warmer air returns

After a wintry start to the weekend, skies cleared today and winds shifted directions, allowing highs to top out in the upper 30s in most areas this afternoon.

We’ll drop quickly into the low to mid 20s for your Monday morning commute, but outside of the cold start, it looks like most (if not all) wintry mix chances for the day will be well to our northeast, making for a cloudy and mild start to the week.

Highs will briefly top out in the low 40s, just about average for this time of year.

Late Monday night, thick clouds will build in and snow chances will begin to rise. Scattered snow showers are possible, though accumulation will be minimal. Just watch for isolated slick spots early Tuesday morning as you head out the door.

We’ll see additional, minimal snow chances Wednesday before skies begin to clear through the second half of the week.

As skies clear and a southwesterly wind returns, temps will start to ramp up through the second half of the week.

We’ll end up hitting the mid to upper 40s by Saturday and remain in the 40s and climb all the way into the low 50s by the end of the forecast.
