Anthony Calhoun named ISC’s 2017 Indiana Pathfinder Award winner

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Anthony Calhoun, 24-Hour News 8’s Sports Director, has been named the Indiana Sports Corp’s 2017 Indiana Pathfinder Award winner.

The award recognizes individuals, both nationally and locally, who give back to the youth in their community, striving to make their lives better.

“We are pleased to honor our friend Anthony Calhoun for his longstanding commitment to the Indianapolis community and most importantly our youth,” said Ryan Vaughn, Indiana Sports Corp President. “For decades, A.C. has taken pride in representing Indianapolis and giving back through charitable contributions which make him an outstanding choice to join our list of Indiana Pathfinder Award recipients.”

Calhoun will be presented with the award at the Indiana Ballroom during the State of Sports on Thursday, Dec. 14.

In addition to his daily reporting and anchoring duties, Calhoun also keeps busy hosting several local sports shows including, Sports Locker, seen every Sunday at 10:15 p.m. on WISH-TV and Emmy-award-winning Countdown to Kickoff, a Colts pre-game show.

Prior to joining WISH-TV in 1998, Calhoun worked as weekend sports anchor/reporter at WTVH-TV, a CBS affiliate in Syracuse, New York. He has also served as a play by play announcer for NCAA basketball on ESPN and as the voice of Butler basketball on MyINDY-TV.

Past honorees include Dr. Condoleezza Rice, John Wooden, Larry Bird, Governor Mitch Daniels, Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, and Dick Vitale.
