INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Four people are in custody after Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department chased them from the Fountain Square business district and into a southeast side neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.

IMPD said a patrol officer saw a car with the two men in it strike a large trash bin in the Fountain Square area. The officer saw the driver was wearing a mask and turned on the patrol car lights, beginning the chase.

The car the men were in was reportedly part of a carjacking Dec. 6 in Franklin.

Police chased the car to the area of South Keystone Avenue southeast of the interchange of interstates 65 and 465. From there, the men fled on foot to their home in the 2500 block of Depauw Road, police said. They were taken into custody at their home where police said they surrendered themselves to officers.
