Package theft suspects arrested in Johnson Co.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Two people suspected of stealing packages in Plainfield have been arrested.

According to the Plainfield Police Department, 28-year-old Koty Hopkins and 28-year-old Christina Baker were arrested on Dec. 5 in Johnson County.

Police say that on Dec. 1 and 2 several reports were made about a male and a female suspect, driving a white Ford Explorer, stealing packages in Plainfield neighborhoods.

On Dec. 5, just before 5:30 a.m., the Princes Lake Police Department discovered a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and both, Hopkins and Baker, were taken into custody.

Hopkins and Baker are connected to mail and package thefts in four counties.

Hopkins and Baker face five preliminary charges of thefts in Plainfield.

The string of package thefts remains under investigation by a number agencies.
