INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officials were on the scene of a police-action shooting that injured an officer and a suspect Wednesday afternoon.
The incident began around 1:40 p.m. in the area of Harlan Street and Spann Avenue on the southeast side.
According to IMPD, an officer was shot in the incident following a search warrant of the residence. The officer is said to be in good condition after being shot in the forearm.
The officer and the suspect were being treated at a local hospital, police said. The suspect is said to be in critical condition.
Special weapons and tactics team officials were investigating. Police had a narcotics-related warrant.
A brief lockdown was placed on nearby William McKinley School, but was lifted once police determined there was no immediate danger to the school.
