Serious crash in Madison Co. sends 3 to hospital

MADISON COUNTY,  Ind. (WISH) — Three people are recovering following a crash Saturday.

It happened just before noon on Highway 36 just east of Pendleton when one car was struck after pulling out in front of another.

One of the drivers was ejected and trapped under the car until emergency responders arrived. She was later taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Officials say the passenger of the woman’s car suffered a collapsed lung in the crash. Her condition is unknown.

The other driver was also taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Details on what may have caused the crash have not yet been released.
