Police in Columbus investigating armed robbery

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Columbus are investigating the armed robbery of a gas station.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the robbery occurred at the Marathon station in the 1500 block of State Street at approximately 3:45 a.m.

Police say a suspect entered the establishment, demanded money from the cashier and threatened to shoot the employee if he did not comply.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing between 5’4″ and 5’8″ tall. During the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and a black ski mask.

No one was hurt and police say a gun was not displayed during the robbery.
