Police in Columbus investigating armed robbery

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Authorities in Columbus are investigating an armed robbery that happened over the weekend.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the robbery happened Dec.17 just after 9 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn located in the 100 block of Carrie Lane.

Police said the suspect, described as a black male between 5’10”- 6’0″ tall with a slender build, entered the hotel, demanded money from the clerk while displaying a handgun. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was last spotted wearing a red and black sweatshirt and blue jeans.
