Cooler Wednesday, big changes this weekend

Persistent low clouds kept temps from sailing well into the 50s today. Slightly cooler air arrives for Wednesday.

THIS EVENING: Lows clouds will linger for a bit, but temps will stay in the 40s with a breeze.

COLDER TONIGHT: Temps will drop to colder values vs. this morning. Expect numbers to drop into the low 30s, maybe some upper 20s in outlying areas.

COOLER WEDNESDAY: It will still be above average in the temperature department for Wednesday, just a bit cooler than today. After morning clouds, we should see some sunshine by afternoon. Highs will reach the middle 40s.

BIG PATTERN CHANGE IN THE 8-DAY FORECAST: Latest projections have slowed the next big storm system a bit. This means warmer air will last all the way through Friday and the precipitation chances will stay in the form of scattered rain Friday. Saturday will be the transition day, as we could see heavy rain early in the day, then a change to some bursts of snow showers as the storm system departs the state. Sunday could see another disturbance, and with cold air in place, that could mean snow showers, but the track of that disturbance is very uncertain, with no agreement in medium range models at this time. We will keep snow shower chances in place Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but accumulation chances are still sketchy at this point. Stay tuned.
