Indy Ten Point expanding to east side with grant from attorney general’s office

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana’s attorney general will announce an expansion of a crime fighting tool in the city at a press conference Tuesday morning.

The Indy Ten Point Coalition will be expanding to the east side with the help of a $50,000 grant from the attorney general’s office.

Back in August, Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill announced that his office was setting up a $500,000 seed fund to help groups follow Ten Point’s model in various parts of the city and state after the success the group has had in patrolling the Butler-Tarkington, Crown Hill and United Northwest Area neighborhoods in the last few years.

The grant to expand to help the Ten Point Coalition will be the first distributed as part of that fund.

The press conference will be held at 42nd Street and Post Road at 9:30 a.m. Attorney General Hill will be joined by members of IMPD, Lawrence Police Department and Indy Ten Point Coalition.
