Report: Colts expected to hire Patriots OC Josh McDaniels as next head coach

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Colts are expected to hire Josh McDaniels as their next head coach according to reports.

NFL Network made the announcement on Twitter Monday afternoon.

24-Hour News 8’s Anthony Calhoun later confirmed the news:

McDaniels currently serves as the Patriots offensive coordinator.

He last served as head coach with the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010, but was later fired following a 3-9 record. The Broncos began the 2009 season going 6-0 before finishing the season with a .500 record at 8-8.

The hire can’t be made official until after the Patriots are eliminated from playoff contention.
