Indianapolis firefighters recognize heroic actions
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — True heros: That’s how firefighters across the city are often described.
On Friday night, their heroic actions were honored at the Indianapolis Fire Department’s 26th annual IFD Recognition Ceremony. It was at the Indiana Roof Ballroom downtown.
Firefighters at the event said the awards are great, but honors are not why these men and women joined the department. They said they became firefighters to answer the city’s call for help.
