Superintendent of public instruction talks Florida shooting, Indiana school safety

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A gunman opened fire inside a school in Florida Wednesday, killing 17 people.

Friends and families of the victims and people in that community and around the nation are still coming to grips with the deadly incident.

Now many families, police departments and school leaders are talking about how to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future.

Dr. Jennifer McCormick, the Indiana superintendent of public instruction, was on Daybreak Friday.

She addressed the Florida shooting and Indiana school safety.
