Soggy Sunday, slight warm up this week

It will be a wet end to the weekend, but temperatures should rebound slightly as we head into the new work week.Today:

We’re tracking a cold front sweeping through the Midwest today.  Rain will fill in across the state from west to east starting this morning. A few areas in northwestern and northern portions of central Indiana could see a few snowflakes or sleet pellets mixing in with the rain through mid morning.  Expect widespread rain around the Indy metro area by late morning through the early afternoon.  Rain should start to taper off by later this afternoon into the early evening.

Rain totals will be relatively light – at worst, up to a quarter of an inch.  Most areas will see less than that.

Highs will be running cool again, today, topping out in the lower to middle 40s.Tonight:

Rain will continue to push away from the state, but clouds will likely hang around for much of the overnight, with some cracks of clearing closer to daybreak, Monday.  Overnight lows fall to the lower to middle 30s.Monday:

High pressure and dry air settles in to open the work week.  Expect slowly eroding cloud cover, with highs in the middle to upper 40s.Tuesday:

Another dry day with a slight warm up.  Highs top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s.8 Day Forecast:

Another cold front will bring showers to the area on Wednesday.  We’ll briefly dry out Thursday before a strong low pressure system moves in on Friday.  Expect showers, even a few thunderstorms for Friday afternoon and evening.  In addition, it will be a windy and warmer day, with highs topping out in the middle to upper 50s – maybe even a few areas touching into the lower 60s.  Temperatures will crash as we head into the the weekend on the back side of our Friday storm system.  Highs Saturday and Sunday only top out in the lower 40s.
