Next 8 days: Soggy Sunday, a mild work week and a return of wintry weather

The last Autumn weekend of 2017 has gotten off to a great start with plenty of blue skies and a south wind, both of which have helped to push high temps into the low 50s in many areas. Highs that warm are nearly 10-15° above average for this time of year.

With clear skies through the evening hours, temperatures will quickly drop into the mid 30s by midnight, so dress for warmth if you’re headed out. Clouds will build in through the overnight, making temps stall out in the low 30s. The increasing cloud cover is just ahead of our next round of rain showers which look to push in a bit closer to daybreak Sunday.Scattered showers are likely by daybreak and will linger into the early afternoon before thinning out through the second half of our Sunday.

We’ll hold on to lingering showers into Monday with high temps in the mid to upper 40s both Sunday and Monday.

As skies clear out Tuesday, temperatures will rebound into the low 50s. High temperatures through the entire work week will be above average compared to what we normally see this time of year, but enjoy it while it lasts…

By the end of the work week, our next big storm system looks to dive in, bringing a chance for a wintry mix to central Indiana by Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve Sunday. As the storm system dives in, temps will drop like a rock with highs in the low to mid 30s as we head through the holiday weekend.
