Ken Brewer is a Meteorologist, Weather Executive Producer, and Traffic Reporter for WISH-TV in charge of running the day-to-day operations of the Storm Track 8 Team.
Prior to joining WISH-TV in October of 2000, Ken was a meteorologist for WFOR in Miami, Florida, where he was extensively involved in forecasting and covering the active 1996 hurricane season. For nearly ten years, Ken studied, reported, forecasted, and experienced Florida’s often severe and volatile weather conditions. He later joined WCTV, in Tallahassee, Florida as a meteorologist/reporter, where he worked for the next three years. His severe weather experience in northern Florida includes anchoring as Hurricane Earl made landfall in 1998, and live coverage of the F-3 tornadoes that hit his station’s coverage area in February 2000.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Florida State University. He received his AMS Seal of Approval in 1998. Ken is an active member of the American Meteorological Society, and since 2003, has been the Vice-President of the Central Indiana chapter of the Society. He also serves on the board for the non-profit group Music for All, an organization that provides positive life changing experiences for school kids across the country through music education.
Ken is a Midwest native from Saint Louis, Missouri, and is an avid Cardinals fan! He and his wife Wendy have 2 kids, Emily and Matthew, as well as a Yellow Lab named Blondie.
