Man wanted in 3 counties after evading police

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – A man who fled from police custody is wanted by three different Indiana counties, and police have released additional photos to try to track him down.

Dustin Allen Evans evaded police in Columbus on Nov. 17. While arresting him, an Edinburgh police officer took him to Columbus for medical treatment. On the way, Evans told the officer he was going to be sick, so the officer pulled over to avoid Evans getting sick in the squad car. When they got out of the car, Evans ran.

Evans is wanted on two warrants in Johnson County, one in Bartholomew County and another in Scott County. He was being arrested on preliminary charges of possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement when he escaped police custody, according to police.

Investigators said Evans has a number of distinct tattoos that could help the public aid police in tracking him down. He has one on the left side of his face that reads, “misunderstood.” The 26-year-old white man is about 140 pounds, 5 foot 4 inches with brown hair and brown eyes. See photos attached to this story for more on his appearance.

Police believe Evans is still in central Indiana.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Edinburgh Police Department at 812-526-3501.
