Avon residents release lip dub video to show diversity, unity

AVON, Ind. (WISH) — The Town of Avon is the latest to release a lip dub to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling.’ The singer issued a challenge to communities across the country to create videos with the song. Within 24 hours, the video had more than 10,000 views on YouTube.

The entire effort was coordinated by Tony Gude with the help of Robin Pickett and took about a month to put together. Nearly 150 met Saturday at Avon Town Hall Park to shoot the finale scene. 24-Hour News 8’s Nina Criscuolo also makes an appearance in the video.

“In light of recent events across the U.S. with racial division as a result of a few. We did this to show everyone that we are ONE commUNITY – despite our differences, our race, our cultures. We are ONE,” wrote Gude in the description of the YouTube video.

This isn’t the first time Avon residents have been a virtual splash. Earlier this year, more than 2,700 students and faculty members at Avon High School performed an impressive lip dub that went viral.
