Building fire breaks out in downtown Greenfield, no injuries
GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Authorities say a building fire in downtown Greenfield is now under control.
Fire crews from Greenfield Fire Territory and Sugar Creek Fire Department responded to downtown Greenfield around 5 a.m. Saturday on reports of a building fire near the intersection of West Main Street and North State Street.
Photos posted online by Greenfield Police Department Lt. Matt Holland show smoke coming from the windows above Hometown Classic Pizza. That’s located at 12 W Main St.
The fire is now under control.
No one was injured in the fire, authorities say. It is unclear at this time what caused the fire or what the extent of the damage is.
U.S.40 remained closed between State Road 9 and Pennsylvania Street until around 7 a.m. Sunday.
