Firefighters get life-saving pet oxygen masks

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — Firefighters in three local communities received a life-saving tool for pets Monday.

Fire crews in Anderson, Edgewood and Alexandria were given pet oxygen masks.

Firefighters can use them to resuscitate animals that have smoke inhalation.

Firefighters also received training on how to use the masks.

Donations for the equipment came from a program called Project Breathe run by Invisible Fence.

The program donates the masks to fire stations across the United States and Canada.
