Suspects caught trying to rob Walgreens for second time this week

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) — The Lawrence Police Department said two suspects have been caught as they seemed poised to try to rob a Walgreens for the second time this week.

Detectives had the Walgreens in the 4500 block of North Shadeland Avenue under surveillance Thursday afternoon.

While there, two people entered matching the description of two individuals that robbed the pharmacy on Sept. 22.

Police said the two fled after employees recognized them.

Detectives caught up with the two suspects, identified as 20-year-old Timothy Woods and an unnamed 17-year-old.

In the pocket of the juvenile, police said they found a handwritten note with demands and an indication that the suspect was armed.

The suspects were arrested and face preliminary charges of attempted robbery.

LPD is currently investigating to see if the suspects may be connected to other pharmacy robberies in the area.

Their mugshots have not yet been released.
