Community Link: Indiana Latino Scholarship Fund

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week in Community Link, Carolene Mays-Medley and Marco Dominguez take a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.

The Indiana Latino Scholarship Fund supports and encourages top Indiana Latino scholars to realize their academic dreams. It is the largest scholarship fund for Latinos in Indiana.

Juan Gonzalez, chairman of the Indiana Latino Scholarship Fund and Kathy Cabello, a founding board member stopped by the Daybreak studios to talk about the fund.

“The fund started over 13 years ago with the former Mexican consulate Aguilera who had the thought of bringing people together in the community to support Latino students,” said Cabello. “We’ve grown from 0 to over $3 million in scholarships to students.”

Community Link also examined the enforcement of the Marion County mask mandate.
