Coroner: Head of Park Tudor School committed suicide
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The head of Park Tudor School committed suicide Saturday, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfarena Ballew released the cause of death Monday afternoon.
Park Tudor announced the death of headmaster Dr. Matthew D. Miller on Saturday.
Classes were canceled Monday.
Miller had been at Park Tudor since July 2011.
According to the school’s website, Miller held a bachelor’s degree in Greek and Latin from Dickinson College. He also graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University, where he studied Greco-Roman literature, history and philosophy.
Additionally, he received a master of arts degree in ancient history and Mediterranean archaeology from the University of California and earned his ED.D. in educational leadership and management at the University of Pennsylvania.
Before arriving at Park Tudor, Miller was the assistant head of school at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
